19:00 – 21:00 Welcome Reception

Attendance at the welcome Reception is included in the conference registration fee.

The Welcome Reception will take place in the historical building of the City Hall, which dates back to the 16th Century. The Pacificatiezaal (Pacification Hall), the former Old Court of Justice, is where the Pacification of Ghent was signed in 1576. This treaty brought temporary peace between the Spanish Habsburgs and the rebel armies of the Low Countries (today Belgium and the Netherlands).

During the reception, drinks and finger food will be served. The reception will also feature entertainment from the Gent Gipsy Devils local band.

This building is truly marvelous, consider taking a virtual tour of this building before you arrive.


19:00 – 23:00 A’Petit I – Culinary walk in the evening (optional by registration)

Duration: 3,5 – 4 hours

Price: 73 EUR pp for minimum 18 person per guide.

The culinary walk is a delightful tour through the historical center of Ghent. We hit the town to stroll alongside the most interesting and beautiful sights of the city. But there’s more! We’re invited by four different restaurants who will each serve one part of a three course menu, from aperitif to dessert. While touring these charming restaurants, our Belgian guides will tell you all about the city of Ghent.

The price includes the guide, aperitif with appetizers, main course with a drink, coffee and dessert. If less participants sign up, a higher price will be charged (participants will be informed in advance).

The menu is a surprise. Please let us know in advance if there are any special dietary requests, such as vegetarians and allergies.


19:00 – 23:00 Buffet and Entertainment at Cocteau (optional by registration)

Price: 25 EUR pp

We welcome you to enjoy a fantastic evening of music and dancing in the heart of Ghent. This celebration, held in the unique feestzaal Cocteau, will include delicious food and drinks. Don’t forget to wear your dancing shoes!

Buffet dinner and drinks are included in the price. Catering ends at 22:00, while drinks are unlimited for the whole evening.


 

 

14:00 – 16:00 Prinsenhof Quarter Walking Tour (optional by registration)

Price: 30 EUR pp for a minimum of 15 persons per guide. The guide, drink and 2 delicacies are included in this price.

The “Prinsenhof” or, Prince’s Court, was a grand castle and the birthplace of Emperor Charles V. Today, only the Dark Gate remains of this once impressive residence. Still, the Prinsenhof is one of the most picturesque neighborhoods of Ghent.

You’ll discover the winding, cobblestoned streets, traditional houses and the unique atmosphere.

During the tour, we will taste two sweet Belgian delicacies and stop to enjoy a drink at a lovely location.




14:00 – 15:30 Child Rights Walking Tour (optional by registration)

Price: 12 EUR pp

While walking through the historical city center of Gent, we’ll discuss children’s rights. During this walking tour, we look at the evolution of children’s rights over time and how the meaning differs on different continents.

The minimum is 10 people the maximum is 50 people.
